  • FLORIDA STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION

    GHIN CLUB MEMBER BENEFITS

  • The Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) was formed in 1913 to promote, protect and preserve the game of golf. The FSGA includes over 800 member clubs and more than 220,000 individual members.

    A CENTURY OF SERVICE

  • In 2012, the FSGA and the Florida Women's State Golf Association merged to form the largest state or regional association in the country. The FSGA conducts more than 470 tournament days each year, including 36 state championships and over 45 days of USGA qualifying events. In 2004, the FSGA launched the Florida Junior Tour (FJT) for the benefit of junior golfers throughout the state. The FSGA organizes and conducts high-quality, affordable competitions for junior golfers in Florida. The Tour continually emphasizes to the players the best values of the game including integrity, honesty and personal responsibility. The junior golfers playing on the tour are some of the finest players in the country and the FJT serves as a proving ground for their future in the game. The association also actively cooperates with the United States Golf Association, PGA of America, International Association of Golf Administrators, Golf Course Superintendents Association and other golf-serving associations.

  • HISTORY: The FSGA was formed in 1913 by a small group of golfers in Jacksonville, Florida. The FSGA has grown from solely conducting championships to hosting junior events, coordinating course ratings, instructing rules seminars, and supporting the USGA and their GHIN Handicap System. However, it is through the rich history of champions that has helped develop the FSGA into what it is today. Individuals including Gary Koch, Bob Rankin, AC Ulmer, Bo Williams, Don Bisplinghoff, Bob Murphy, and multiple others, have competed and contributed to the development of the FSGA and the preservation of golf.

CHAMPIONSHIPS: The FSGA conducts more than 470 days of competition each year, including 36 premier championships. These championship events include the Amateur, Womens Amateur, Amateur Public Links, Florida Open, Womens Amateur Stroke Play, Womens Senior, Boys Junior, Junior Match Play, Amateur Match Play, Senior AM, Senior Mid-AM, Mid-AM, Four-Ball, Mid-AM Four-Ball, Parent-Child, Winter Series, Interclub, and a few others.

FLORIDA JUNIOR TOUR & FUTURE OF GOLF FOUNDATION: Dedicated to growing the game, the Florida Junior Tour was started in 2004. Junior golfers between the ages of 13 and 18 are eligible to play and compete in affordable priced events held throughout the year. The FJT is involved with the AJGA's Performance Entry Based and many of the events rank within the highest in the country for junior golf competition.

The Future of Golf Foundation was developed to provide college scholarships for the employees and the dependents of employees of our full member clubs, as well as to junior golfers that have previously competed in FSGA and FJT competitions.

UNITED STATES GOLF ASSOCIATION: Having a strong affiliation with the USGA, the FSGA conducts over 55 days of USGA qualifying; more than any other golf association. These include qualifiers for the US Open, US Womens Open, US Am, US Womens Am, US Am Public Links, US Junior, US Senior, and US Mid-Am Championships.

A CENTURY OF SERVICE FLORIDA STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION

  • FLORIDA OPEN: The Florida Open is one of the states most prestigious events, and is conducted annually in July. Florida Professionals and Amateurs attempt to qualify for the Championship through local qualifying around the state.

VOLUNTEERS: The FSGA is a volunteer-based organization and has more than 500 of the finest tournament and course rating committee members in the nation. The volunteers of the FSGA serve golf in a few categories, such as Rules Officials, Course Raters, and throughout Junior Golf Programs. With such an exceptional volunteer base, it is the FSGAs goal to maintain the quality and satisfaction of the members through rules and officiating certification seminars as well as holding appreciation days.

COURSE RATING & MEASURING: Along with conducting competitions, the FSGA has a course rating department that coordinates course ratings and tee-to-green measurements with FSGA volunteers around the state. Florida is divided into 18 sections, where more than 200 volunteers rate the states 1,200 golf courses.

RULES & EDUCATION: Throughout the year, the FSGA hosts more than 40 rules clinics and seminars for members, volunteers, PGA professionals, and committee members. One-day general clinics are open to those wanting to gain a more in-depth-understanding of the rules, and the two day advanced workshops and seminars are offered to the active volunteers for certification of the rules and officiating procedures. The FSGA puts a strong emphasis on rules of golf knowledge.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP & HANDICAPPING: Having a USGA developed, GHIN Handicap System in Florida qualifies a club to be an FSGA Member Club. Providing GHIN Handicap Systems across the state, the FSGA has more than 800 member clubs and 210,000 golfers that use the system. Developed in 1981, it is also the largest handicap system in the world with more than 9,700 clubs and 2 million golfers just in the United States. The FSGA is constantly trying to unify the state onto one system to promote consistency and growth within the Florida golf industry.

We recently switched to GHIN from GolfNet. Change is always hard and learning a new software system can be challenging but the FSGA staff has been there every step of the way for us to learn the new system. Nathan Groce, PGA Verandah Club

Through our alliance with the FSGA and the USGA GHIN system, Hobe Sound Golf Club has been able to host numerous events over the past several years which have brought us a considerable revenue stream during the off season. Being an FSGA member club utilizing the GHIN system is a great way to attract many of the FSGA premier events to your club and help your clubs bottom line in the process.

Tom Yeager, PGA Hobe Sound Golf Club

I was hesitant to switch over to the GHIN handicap system as I was happy with my old system but when told we could host USGA and FSGA events it was a no brainer. The FSGA tournaments we hosted in 2009 generated $31,000 in cart and green fee revenue. It makes sense to work with an organization that works with us.

Mike Regner PGA Rio Pinar Country Club

Over the past several years I have had the opportunity to work closely with the FSGA and be a part of the events they run. The financial impact of these events has benefited the club greatly and the quality of the event has brought pride to our membership. It is because of the absolute professionalism of the FSGA that Weston Hills is now a member of the GHIN system. We are looking forward to hosting many events here in the future.

The Tournament Pairing Program Database before you can use the program. To manually create the Tournament Pairing Program Database and configure it for you to use, open the C: drive, the GHIN folder, the 2004 folder and the TPP folder. The USGA’s GHIN service has been an important technology tool for State and Regional Golf Associations (newly-recognized in 2018 as Allied Golf Associations), clubs, and golfers since its introduction in 1981. Historically, one of the core offerings of GHIN has been the Tournament Pairing Program (commonly called TPP®). Hello RLRC HUNTER,

The GHIN Tournament Pairing Program is not listed in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center. Nor could I find any information on the GHIN website.
You might need to contact GHIN and see if they can tell if it is compatible or not.

If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

Use the following steps:

1)Right click on the Program

2)Click on Properties

3)Click on Compatibility tab

4)Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully.

Refer to the link here: Make older programs run in this version of Windows

If the compatibility is not successful, then try and runthe Program Compatibility troubleshooter:

1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking theStart button.

Then click Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then clickTroubleshooting. Under Programs, clickRun programs made for previous versions of Windows.

2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
