Dec 02, 2014 Download Master is a very faulty / buggy program. It 'always' stucks, freezes what ever your load is. Tried to download 4 files as recommended by Asus & it got stuck after a while. Tried to download more than 4 files & it got stuck after a shorter while. There are lot's of people complaining on the forums, trying to find a solution.

I was doing some research on buying a new router for my home and I came across the Download Master feature for the Asus routers. It seems to allow for the router to download and seed instead of needing to do this on your PC.
I'm curious if anyone has experience with this feature and if it's restricted to downloading only to a USB drive. I'd really like to download to my NAS instead but I'm not sure if this supports authenticating to a share like this. Also, has anyone come across any limits on how many torrents can be seeded with the router?
Thanks for any info on this!

Asus Download Master Problem
I just got an Asus DSL-AC68U modem/router, which works great. I am running Vanilla ASUSWRT.
The moderm/router has a USB port, you can mount any drive there as nas. It also has inbuilt VPN client and a download master app that allows you to download files and torrents via router only on the USB drive.
SO my question would be: if I activate the inbuilt VPN client (set up with Torguard OpenVPN) and start downloading torrents with the inbuilt download master app, are these downloads routed through the VPN or not? Is there any way to check?
Thanks!
